What does it mean?
I'm going to be a father for the 1st time I want to name my daughter Rosalyn. Is this this name popular?
It was most popular in the 1950-60. But even then it wasn't that used in that spelling. The babynamewizard link below is a really fun way to look up the popularity of names.
Rosalyn is a variant of Rosalind, which is a common Spanish name for "pretty rose."
Reply:The name is not very popular, but it is very pretty.Don't know what it means.Good Luck!!!

As for what it means: Rosalyn is the medieval form of ROSALIND. Means "soft horse", derived from the Germanic elements hros "horse" and linde "soft, tender". This name was brought to England by the Normans. It was subsequently influenced by the Latin phrase rosa linda "beautiful rose". This is the name of the heroine in Shakespeare's comedy 'As You Like It'.
