I prefer the spelling of Siena rather than Sienna as it is less common...but what I really want to know is how popular this name is in general. Is it gonna turn into another Madison or Emma??
Is Siena becoming a popular name?
It's not too common so far.
In 2006 Siena was #629 for baby girls in the US
and Sienna was #177
although it has become much more popular than it used to be
Sienna was #609 in 2004, #299 in 2005, and #177 in 2006. Those are big jumps in popularity!
Reply:You can check the national census to see if it's been getting more popular, but I've personally never met one. It's a beautiful name though.
Reply:I had a student named Seanna...pronounced the same way.
Reply:ive never met a sienna
Reply:it is getting more popular, I dont think the spelling matters that much. pretty name thou
Reply:I love the name Sienna but prefer the spelling Siennah, but I loved it wayyy back before Jude Law's Sienna Miller. Though, my daughter is going to be a MiKayla.
Reply:Well i have never heard the name Sienna before...so go with what you like and don't worry about if its going to be popular or not.
Reply:not my first choice
Reply:Maybe, i was thinking about it for my daughter, 3 years ago, and it was rare back then.
I love love love it.
But wouldnt name her it as there are no nicknames i like.
Sie? as a nickname? No thanks!
I went with Alana. (A-lahn-ah)
not Alannah (A-lann-ah)
and she gets, Lana, Lani, and Allie as nicknames.x
