Why is the name Gomer no longer a popular female name?

She was married to Hosea in the bible and kept giving it up to all the neighbor guys.





I'm surprised there hasn't been a teen female pop group named Gomer.

Teen female popular...yeah, should be named Gomer, consistent with the Biblical one.





Downsides of Gomer as a name: Labeled as a whore to fundies, as an idiot (Gomer Pyle) to TV fans.





Special downside: To paramedics and Emergency Room nurses, GOMER stands for Get Out of My Emergency Room. It is an epithet used for repeat customers, malingerers, street bums who make frequent visits to the ER to get a place to sleep and a meal.





But other than that, a great name.
