Why was the Les Paul Junior popular with big name musicians?
At the time it was made, it was cheap and it sounded good. As it gained in popularity, customizations began to appear and were sometimes used, but when you get down to it, inexpensive quality makes for popularity, especially among musicians, whom are often a rather poor bunch anyways.
